SILENT TEARS

I cry these silent tears for her
\nFor her loss, for her pain, for her heart
\nBreaking when she looks into their eyes
\nHer children \u2013
\nshe feels their loss, their pain, their hearts breaking.
\nThe memories \u2013
\nthe hardest
\nYet, there\u2019s no getting away from the reminders of what used to be.
\nThere once was a HE
\nHE sat, parented, loved, even laughed
\nYes, towards all ends there is laughter some say
\nBut his chair is empty now
\nJust as their hearts
\nHollow as the tree he chose.
\nHe left it all there
\nHis back against a world filled with painful memories of a childhood unprotected.
\nHis pain\u2026
\nBottled up in the bottles of poison he consumed
\nReckless abandon he gave to it
\nBut quit\u2026
\nhe could not
\nwould not
\nwas it his choice not?
\nIn the end, the call of the poison was stronger
\nand he had to answer
\nhe was forced to answer
\ngiven no choice but to answer\u2026
\nwas the way he felt.
\nHis choice gave her no choice
\nSingle parenting
\nA thing for some
\nbut\u2026
\nIt wasn\u2019t her thing
\nThat is
\nuntil
\nhe left her
\nno choice.<\/p>\n
She\u2019ll be fine
\nKids are resilient
\nThey\u2019ll be fine
\nTime heals all wounds
\nAll clich\u00e9s but true.<\/p>\n
Still\u2026
\nI cry my silent tears for her
\nFor the husband she once knew.<\/p>\n
